Ngayogyakarta Palace or Keraton Jogja is one of the places that must be visited if you are in this “Gudeg City”. Located in the city center, the place is pretty easy to find. There are two main entrances that you could choose in order to enter the palace. The Tepas Keprajuritan in front of the north plaza and The Tepas Pariwisata / Regol Keben.
Although there are two main entrances, each entrance actually offers different experiences for tourists. If a tourist chooses to enter from Tepas Keprajuritan, then they could only enter the exhibition room, Siti Hinggil, and see several palace collections. Otherwise, if a tourist comes from Tepas Pariwisata then they could only enter Sri Manganti and Kedhaton Complex (a place for Kencono Room - the palace main hall). In other words, each entrance complements each other, so it is better to visit both entrance to gain full experience.
I came to the palace from the Tapas Pariwisata. Entering the palace, I was immediately greeted by the luxurious traditional architecture of the palace, and courtiers who wore traditional clothes. As I walk deeper into the area, I could see several antique collections that were still very well preserved. Further, I saw the daily activities of courtiers. All of the antiques, the arts, the luxuries, and the cultures seem worked harmoniously in one big palace complex.
